I have extensive
experience as a web developer and I've been involved in many of the
web projects developed for the Williamsport community. I've worked
with IT professionals at the Lycoming County Government, the James V
Brown Library, the Industrial Modernization Center, SEDA-COG and
many small businesses.
My specialty is website database integration
using Active Server Pages and Microsoft Access or SQL Server. I've
also developed web services using ASP.NET to perform automated data
transfers.
My web developer
duties have included Internet Information Server management and
configuration, Exchange Server management, Active Directory
management, DNS registration, image treatment and optimization using PhotoShop,
database design and back ups, lots of HTML coding, Search Engine
Optimization, and technical writing. I spend a lot of time
documenting what I learn on the job.
Working with a lot
of data can be a chore so I've developed many methods to cut down on
my data entry work. I've studied regular expressions so I can write
scripts that search text or data for string patterns. Regular
expressions use a cryptic syntax but it is worth learning for making
sophisticated "search and replace" edits. I also write a lot of
scripts to generate repetitive code, rename multiple files at once,
or to perform edits.
