I used to be in charge
of the computer recycling program for the Williamsport Area Computer
Club. They would get many donations of old computers and I would put
together a few systems from all the parts. I also bought many used
computers at the local computer auctions that used to be held at the
firehall. I always enjoy tinkering with a computer.
I was responsible for
doing minor upgrades of systems for a small office that had ten
computers. I also troubleshooted the occasional hardware failure.
When it is time for me
to upgrade my computer I usually buy a bare bones system and install
as many of my current PC's parts as possible to save money.
I don't believe in
reinstalling the operating system every time something goes wrong or
even when I change motherboards. It is worth the effort to preserve
your data and system settings by finding the technical solution to
your problem rather than giving up and starting all over again from
scratch. |
