Network Printers

Printer Icons

Canon BJC-4300 is a local shared printer. The HP Deskjet is a network printer. The second instance of HP Deskjet 600 is a local printer using the UNC path as its local port (see instructions below).


Step One

Local or Network Printer

Set up a new local printer


Step Two

Select The Printer Port

Create a new port of the type "Local Port"


Step Three

Port Name

Enter the UNC path (using the printer's share name at the end)


Step Four

Install Printer Drivers

Install the drivers


Step Five

Use Existing Driver

Keep existing driver (from previous network printer install)


Step Six

Name Your Printer

This is the printer name that aspPrint will use!


Step Seven

Printer Sharing

You probably won't want to share this printer


Step Eight

Print Test Page

Print a test page to check printer name and port


Step Nine

Completing The Add Printer Wizard

We are done! Test aspPrint using the name shown here.
